Grand National Showcase of Showjumping 2012

Volador 7yo Champion – 2012 Grand National Showcase of Showjumping

As a rider you could not ask for a better show, the weather, courses, venue, atmosphere were all perfect.  The Winning family once again did a great job of running an event which really, as the name of the show suggests showcases our sport.  This was evident by the number of supporters who attended as VIPs and the likes to enjoy the Gold Final which was a fantastic spectical.

Our team of horses did a great job throughout the weekend.  On Saturday Alondra was 4th the in the Bronze Qualifier after jumping a nice double clear round.  All of the young horses jumped well in the 6yo and 7yo classes with Volador finishing in 4th place after quite a competitive jump off.

Sunday brought another day of beautiful weather at the pristine venue.  Alondra was first out from our team and jumped clear and 4 to finish in 4th in the Bronze Final which I was wrapped with.  Carisma jumped well in the 6yo final just having one vertical down over  a testing enough track for her level of experience.  Volador starred in the 7yo Championship jumping two fantastic rounds to win the class.

Thanks to Mum, Sherrie for all of her wonderful support throughout the weekend and for being a wonderful host to quite a few riders who she made sure were all well fed and watered throughout the weekend.  Thanks to Maddy Rush, who did a fabulous job of turning all of the horses out immaculately all weekend and also to the big boss coach David Dobson for all of his support and advice throughout the weekend.
